MAINTENANCE AND DURABILITY OF PAINTED PRODUCTS

Meranti woodwork is treated with acrylic-based finish.
Merbau, oak and afzelia woodwork is treated with solvent-based finish.

We hereby commit ourselves to respect scrupulously the adequation between essence and humidity of woods so that our woodwork can be treated properly with various finishes.

We use the three following treatments:

class-1 fungicide insecticide treatment by dipping, red/brown or yellow –but never colorless– pigment (always solvent-based) for any wood essence; on request, we can also deliver woodwork without any finish.

white prepaint finish only for meranti: class-1 fungicide insecticide treatment by dipping (always solvent-based); sanding and application of a layer of white acrylic paint of an average thickness of 130 microns, i.e. a dry thickness of ±70 microns;

acrylic or synthetic complete finish according the chosen wood essence: in any RAL color available or traditional, transparent sealant.

For our warranty to be effective, wooden frames have to be treated as prescribed:
– for woodwork delivered with a basic impregnation, finishing must be done by the customer with a minimum of 4 layers inside and outside, within 6 to 8 weeks after delivery;

– for prepainted woodwork, finishing must be done by the customer with a minimum of 2 layers inside and outside, within 8 to 12 weeks after delivery;

– for all woodwork, including the one with a complete finish, annual check, maintenance and restoration must be done by the customer according to the exposure of the woodwork;
the correspondence between the intended paint and the type of wood to finish must be checked.

We would also like to draw your attention to the abusive use of glass cleaning products which causes the early deterioration of paint jobs. We thus advise to rinse thoroughly the window frames after cleaning them.

In case of early deterioration of the paint, i.e. within 6 months after the installation of the woodwork, we will investigate in depth the cause of the premature deterioration.

If our examining reveals that products others than the ones prescribed (namely corrosive products) have been used, we will not be held liable for any damage.
Claims will not be admitted if goods have been manipulated in any way different than the normal use or if treatment prescriptions have not been respected.

In the contrary case, we will cover the expenses of the renovation (on location) of the woodwork, namely of the paint.
